Lunch on Us at McAuley House
Hunger is a national, state and local crisis.
According to the USDA, 1 in 8 Rhode Island households don’t have enough to eat. Community members-businesses, churches and organizations-can directly ease those hunger pangs through “Lunch on Us at McAuley House.”
Program: Organizations sponsor a month’s worth of lunches at McAuley House, spending $10,000 to provide more than 5,000 meals, or $5,000 for two weeks of meals. Participating organizations are given volunteer opportunities for employees, in order to witness firsthand the difference they are making.
History: McAuley House launched “Lunch on Us” in 2007, aiming to partner with community leaders who wanted to see the direct impact of their generosity. Citizens Bank Foundation underwrote our first month of meals for the program, becoming our founding sponsor.
